Adzom Rinpoche’s Ösel Nyingthig is his own incredible cycle of terma practices that covers the entire path of the Great Perfection. In February 2019, Rinpoche instructed our centre to offer his Ösel Nyingthig as one of our three main practice cycles, alongside his short and long lineages of Jigme Lingpa’s Treasure Cycle known as the Longchen Nyingthig and the Ösel Dorje Sangzöd Treasure Cycle of Adzom Drukpa Drodul Pawo Dorje.

Revealed to Jigme Lingpa as a mind treasure during a visionary retreat, this cycle synthesises the core teachings of earlier Dzogchen lineages, notably the Vima Nyingthig and Khandro Nyingthig, and is deeply inspired by the 14th-century master Longchenpa. It comprises preliminary practices, tantric sādhanas, and profound Dzogchen instructions such as trekchö and tögal (Lhadrub Thigle Gyachen). The Longchen Nyingthig offers a comprehensive path to realisation.

Tsalung Instructions

In Dzogchen, the path to liberation is one of direct recognition of the mind’s inherent nature—rigpa—the primordial awareness that is always present but often obscured by habitual patterns and attachments. Dzogchen teachings also include specific practices designed to refine and stabilise this recognition. Among these practices, Tsalung movements are an important component, combining physical postures, breathwork, and subtle energy techniques to awaken and harmonise the energy channels of the body, enhancing the practitioner’s ability to directly experience the nature of mind.
Tsalung refers to the subtle energy system within the body, consisting of tsa (channels), lung (winds or energies), and tigle (drops or essences). These correspond to the flow of vital energies and the subtle channels within the body that, when in balance, support clarity of mind and the recognition of the true nature of reality.
Tsalung practices are closely related to the cultivation of prāṇa, but they also have a unique place within Dzogchen, as they directly support the practitioner's realisation of nondual awareness.
The tsalung movements of the Adzom Drukpa tradition are a way to harmonise the body and mind so that one’s energy system is aligned with the natural, uncontrived flow of awareness.
These practices are not merely about controlling energy or manipulating the body for physical well-being, but about using the body as a means to facilitate the experience of pure awareness.

Natural Radiance of the Path

Rinpoche has asked him to share the key teachings of his Dzogchen Nyingthig in a step-by-step manner, covering the stages of:
semtri: mind-instruction, recognising the essence of consciousness devoid of any artifice
activating the inner bliss-heat cycle and melting the nectar through Vajrayoginī's primordial syllable, supported by Vajra Recitation, working on the nāḍīs of the Subtle Body
resting in the outer, inner and secret spaces of Awareness: supported by the Song of the Vajra
Cutting-through-to-Primordial-Purity, with the help of the four ways of letting things be in their simple naturalness
later, if ready, leaping over through the Great Spontaneity of the Path: awakening to the fruit of the Great Perfection.
The space of the natural state does not exist apart from its innate knowing aspect called Awareness. This state discerns itself and distinguishes itself from the conditioned states of the mind. This process begins in a very simple way, by minutely identifying, acknowledging, accepting, integrating and liberating the fundamental emotional dimensions, while discovering their pristine purity within the maṇḍala of the great inexhaustible treasure of our being.
The simile of the mirror is often used in this context in order to illustrate this pristine purity. The surface of a mirror is neither defiled nor affected by the reflections that appear on it.
The practitioner learns to trace thoughts to their natural source, coming to realise that outer and inner natural manifestations merely arise in a condition known as the infinite equality of the natural state.
Structure
The structure of the one-to-one approach is:
One hour of one-to-one meditation together every week, meticulously working together on the practical fundamentals of the path: recognition of the base, the meditation, the conduct, the view, the four visions, the fruit. Days and times are found together flexibly, according to convenience.
Personal daily practice (which can easily be integrated with other practices that one has already committed to)
Ever abiding in the natural state of awareness, including in dreams and deep sleep through Rinpoche's very specific dream yoga instructions
In case of insurmountable difficulties or life-changing questions (e.g. what Yidam or personal deity to practise, if such a question arises), checking directly with Rinpoche personally on behalf of the Dzogchen practitioner is one of the great blessings of this approach.
Preconditions:As Dzogchen is our own true nature, there are no preconditions to realise Dzogchen.
Ideally, formally speaking, the practitioner has completed Ngöndro or at least has the sincere wish to complete it, considers our beloved Rinpoche their root-Guru or feels a very deep connection to him.
Dream Yoga

Dream Yoga is one of the most profound and transformative practices in the Dzogchen tradition. It takes the practitioner beyond the confines of ordinary waking consciousness and into the realm of dreams, where the boundaries between waking and sleeping, reality and illusion, begin to dissolve.
In essence, Dream Yoga is a way of training the mind to maintain awareness and clarity even during the dream state, allowing one to awaken to the true nature of mind and experience liberation in the midst of the dream world.
A.dzom Rinpoche’s own dream yoga is a smooth and skillful method to integrate practice into the dream state, whence the richness of innumerable signs and experiences assist the practitioner in their unfolding path.

The Dzogchen Longchen Ngondro was revealed to Jigme Lingpa by a Wisdom Dakini in a vision: She gave him a casket containing five golden scrolls and seven crystal beads. One of the scrolls contained the guide to Longchen Nyinghtig. At the instruction of the Dakini, he completely consumed the golden scrolls and crystal beads, and all the words and meaning of the Longchen Nyingthig terma cycle were awakened in his mind.
“The Universal Base is the natural state of the individual, the source of Samsara and Nirvana, the great ancestor of all Buddhas and sentient beings. Its Essence is free from obscuration and blazes naturally as innate Clarity.“

The Excellent Path of Great Bliss from the Treasury of the Luminous Heart Essence is a Dakini Ngondro revealed to A.dzom Rinpoche by Yeshe Tsogyal herself. In the presence of his Guru, he was given a name by Yeshe Tsogyal along with the promise that his monastery would ever serve as an entrance to her pure realm, with rainbows every few days appearing as auspicious signs.

It was revealed by A.dzom Rinpoche at Gangri Tökar, the White Skull Mountain, the sacred hermitage where Longchenpa attained enlightenment.
“This is stated from the actual luminous heart of all Buddhas, the luminous nature of all things. This is the teaching of the actual nature of all things. What do we mean by luminous or clear luminosity here? It means that which transcends subject and object.”

Samantabhadra Terma

The Samantabhadra mantra is a unique mantra revealed by A.dzom Rinpoche in the winter upon a plane in the presence of many fortunate students.
Rinpoche received the mantra in a vision in 2016 at Mount Emei when he led four disciples to the golden top. He openly shared the mantra for the first time to a group of practitioners on April 6, 2018.It was revealed to students outside of the Land of Snow for the first time in 2023.

Dzogchen Zhitro: The Great Perfection Peaceful and Wrathful Deities, Profound Secret Essence of Liberation Through Hearing

This extraordinary Zhitro practice was revealed by A.dzom Rinpoche. It is closely linked with the original Zhitro revealed by Karma Lingpa.
The Peaceful and Wrathful Deities known as Zhitro are based on the Mandala of the Secret Womb, the Guhyagarbha.
They represent the basic emotional dimensions as emanations of the Buddha families.
By learning to recognise them as the empty Clear Light essence, the Dzogchenpa liberates the basic emotions into their original clear light dimension.
Rather than a doorway to fear, the period after death thus becomes a portal to liberation.
Availability: Usually, the Zhitro Accomplishment Sadhana is given only after Ngöndro, but with Rinpoche’s kindness it can also be received without Ngöndro upon request.

This Avalokiteshvara Sadhana, revealed along with a terma statue, was revealed to Adzom Rinpoche as a mind-terma first in 2012. In the years after, further termas related to this Cycle were then revealed to him. It comes with innumerable blessings and the promise of liberation in this life or during the bardo.
Availability: Although the Pema Nyingthig Ngondro would in principle be the prerequisite, in his great compassion, A.dzom Rinpoche has made this infinitely precious sadhana available to all sincere practitioners.
The precious statue is available only to practitioners who pledge to complete 100 million mantras with this sadhana.

Khadiravana-Tara:
The Noble Tara of the Acacia Forest

In November 2024, the Noble Tara herself appeared to A.dzom Rinpoche in a pure vision and reminded him to remind practitioners to practise her form as Khadiravana-Tara for the annihilation of diseases and other obstacles of the eight concerns.
"Her body is green like a heap of emeralds. She has one face and two arms; her right hand is performing the mudra of supreme generosity; her left hand holds the stem of an extremely full and attractive blue Utpala flower between the ring finger and thumb at her heart centre. She is in the full bloom of the youth; she has a smiling face endowed with wide eyes like the petals of a lotus. She wears upper and lower garments of utterly splendid divine silk. Her sapphire-colored hair is bound at the crown of her head. She is beautiful with head ornaments, earrings, necklaces, sashes, longer crystal necklaces, and golden armlets; she is lovely and radiating light. Flowers adorn her hair in the manner of a crown. She dwells in the Khadiravana pureland, her royal palace in the midst of natural motifs such as trees bearing fruit and flowers. Her two legs are in the half-vajra posture; the right foot is extended, resting on a multi-coloured lotus and moon seat."

From the Ösel Nyingthig — Secret Thröma Ganacaka (Tsok): The Primordial Wisdom Bindu

The Secret Thröma Ganacakra, or Tsok, is a profound and transformative feast offering within the Thröma Nagmo Cycle, rooted in the highest teachings of Dzogchen. It is much more than a ceremonial gathering: it is an intimate dance of devotion, wisdom, and boundless generosity, through which practitioners directly touch the essence of their primordial nature.
At the heart of this sacred practice lies the single sphere of primordial wisdom. The bindu represents the essence of all phenomena: vast, luminous, and utterly empty. Through the Ganacakra, practitioners embody this realisation, dissolving ordinary perceptions and merging with the infinite expanse of Thröma’s nondual awareness.

The Sang Offering Radiating Satisfaction throughout Samsara and Nirvana is a sacred practice that purifies obscurations, clears obstacles, and transforms the atmosphere.
From the Dzogchen perspective, this Sang is much more than an external offering—it is a dynamic expression of the radiant, self-arising nature of reality as the copper-coloured palace of Padmasambhava.
The Sang offering invokes the palace and retinue of Padmasambhava and all the Dakinis, the luminous, sky-dancing emanations of wisdom.

The aspiration prayer is both a guide and a profound meditation, inspiring Dzogchenpas to align their hearts with the vastness of awakened activity.
Reciting this aspiration prayer is like stepping into a limitless expanse of luminous intention. It is not just a series of aspirations but a poetic unfolding of the Bodhisattva’s path—an endless vow to benefit all beings while recognising the primordial purity and interdependence of all phenomena.
Rinpoche recommends all Dzogchenpas to utilise the King of Aspiration prayers regularly to reinforce their bodhisattva vows and to beautifully bridge the ultimate view of nonduality with the compassionate activities of relative reality.
