Guru Yoga of the Vine of Faith

Melting into the enlightened Guru’s body-energy, speech-energy and mind-energy is the highest Dzogpachenpo practice.

”What do we mean by Guru? In one way the Lama is the Guru, however, the actual Guru is reality itself. And so what do we mean when we say we are accomplishing the Guru? With this in mind, we are accomplishing through relying on the Lama as the Guru, we realise the actual Guru of reality itself. This is what we are accomplishing. And among all types of accomplishing methods, this is the best.”

- AR

We offer the lung or transmission of AR’s Guru Yoga of the Vine Faith, a supremely profound Dzogchen practice allowing a direct encounter with and experience of the Guru’s state of enlightenment. The lung is with his own recording.

Natural Radiance of the Path

With AR's blessings, Lama Sherab Gyatso offers one-to-one Dzogchen meditation sessions for those who would like to explore Dzogchen in this way.

AR has asked him to share the key teachings of his Dzogchen Nyingthig in a step-by-step manner, covering the stages of:

  • Mind-instruction: recognising the essence of consciousness devoid of any artifice

  • Activating the inner bliss-heat cycle and melting the nectar through Vajrayoginī's primordial syllable, supported by Vajra Recitation, working on the nāḍīs of the Subtle Body

  • Resting in the outer, inner and secret spaces of Awareness: supported by the Song of the Vajra and the secret 21 semdzins

  • Cutting-through-to-primordial purity, with the help of the four ways of letting things be in their simple naturalness

  • Later, if ready, leaping over with Spontaneous Presence: awakening to the fruit of the Great Perfection.

The space of the natural state does not exist apart from its innate knowing aspect called Awareness. This state discerns itself and distinguishes itself from the conditioned states of the mind. This process begins in a very simple way, by minutely identifying, acknowledging, accepting, integrating and liberating the fundamental emotional dimensions, while discovering their pristine purity within the maṇḍala of the great inexhaustible treasure of our being.

The simile of the mirror is often used in this context in order to illustrate this pristine purity. The surface of a mirror is neither defiled nor affected by the reflections that appear on it.

The practitioner learns to trace thoughts to their natural source, coming to realise that outer and inner natural manifestations merely arise in a condition known as the infinite equality of the natural state.

Structure

The structure of the one-to-one approach is:

  • One hour of one-to-one meditation together every week, meticulously working together on the practical fundamentals of the path: recognition of the base, the meditation, the conduct, the view, the four visions, the fruit. Days and times are found together flexibly, according to convenience.

  • Personal daily practice (which can easily be integrated with other practices that one has already committed to)

  • Ever abiding in the natural state of awareness, including in dreams and deep sleep through AR's very specific dream yoga instructions

Preconditions:

  • As Dzogchen is our own true nature, there are no preconditions to realise Dzogchen.

  • Ideally, formally speaking, the practitioner has completed Ngöndro or at least has the sincere wish to complete it, considers our beloved AR their root-Guru or feels a very deep connection to him.

Khadiravana-Tara Retreat

"Her body is green like a heap of emeralds. Her sapphire-coloured hair is bound at the crown of her head. She is lovely and radiating light. She dwells in the Khadiravana pureland." Meditation with Tara's mantra, teachings on the Great Perfection, bliss exercises from Adzom Drukpa's tradition in nature, walks in the healing moor earth.

Dakini Movement, Mudras and Trul khor

Our bodies are energetic manifestations of the primordial unity of stillness and dynamic movement. Awareness through movement enables us to centre in our bodies and liberate our emotions, thus allowing them to express their original purity of purpose.

In 2025, AR encouraged that it is very good for her to teach the Trul Khor Dzogchen movements of the Adzom Drukpa tradition to students. These help to balance the winds and energies and render the subtle body conducive to experiencing the natural state.

With twenty-one years of experience, Chöying Drolma combines the ancient, classical principles of Nātya and Lāsya temple movement with the mudrās of the Secret Mantrayāna, the special hand gestures and body movements embodying the sacred feminine: the blissful dākinī of basic space. She teaches delightful sequences such as the Birth of Tārā, the Twenty-One Aspects of Tārā, the Lotus Hook of Kurukullā, and more. The teaching is structured in modules: each module consists of 10 sessions. The introductory module focuses on finding harmony and wholeness in the body through right posture, the basic mudrās related to the dākinīs as well as the abhinaya expression of emotions. The first module covers the first of the twenty-one aspects of Tārā known as Nyurma Pamo, the ‘Swift Heroic Lady’.

Costs: The Dzogchen Nyingthig Vidyādhara Centre is entirely not-for-profit. All net proceeds are forwarded to our Precious AR. You have the opportunity of attending just one single class or a package of 10 classes. We recommend you to attend 10 classes in order to systematically build your knowledge and experience.

Course takes place once a week, both online and offline (hybrid) through Zoom, making it possible for participants to join from anywhere and everywhere.

To accommodate for different time zones, i) all sessions are recorded and shared with registered participants, ii) the live sessions are held at the time most agreeable for all participants, iii) all sessions are video-recorded and can be watched later.

Twenty-One Taras in Sanskrit

Tārā is an important meditation deity from the Indian-Tibetan tantric tradition. Her nature is unconditional compassion and wisdom.

We offer live sessions, including Q&A, on how to chant the Twenty-One Homages to Tārā in Sanskrit.

Background

Our Precious AR has said that Sanskrit is not only the language of the gods but the language that comes closest to and thus touches pure reality itself. He explained that this is the very reason why mantras are always in Sanskrit. Furthermore, he explained how our subtle body is made up of the energetic seed-syllables of the Sanskrit alphabet and how these correspond in intricate detail to the energies of our subtle channels.

For this reason, in March 2019 our Precious Teacher requested his student Sherab Gyatso to venture upon an extensive project to translate all his own termas back into Sanskrit, beginning with important sādhanas such as the Longchen Nyingthig Ngondro and the Guru Drubthab Accomplishment Sādhana— saying that it would be very auspicious for all students who have a great affinity to and love for Sanskrit.
